TFAW was founded by Mike Richardson and opened to the public in 1980 under the name Pegasus Books in Bend, Oregon. In the 1990's Pegasus Books changed its name to "Things From Another World" aka TFAW to better fit their style. Like many small businesses, TFAW started out on a tight budget and in a small retail space that consisted of only 400 sq. feet, but today has grown to be the largest comic book retailer in the US with retail locations in: Milwaukie, Portland and Beaverton, OR, as well as the Universal Studios Citywalk in Los Angeles, CA.
